tonight. Will let you know how it goes. He's going to talk about his Jason Steed series. He originally self published "Fledgling". Four months later it was picked up by an agent and republished through Sourcebooks.

Making a list of things to ask him.

Very cool!  I’m not familiar with his work, but I’d love to know how it turns out!  Smiley

It was amazing. I haven't met such a down to earth author since "Hawk" McKinney. He would have stayed for hours and me, I could rush out. I love British accents. He's from London, now living in Sarasota, FL.

He was so easy to talk to. He is part of a large author group that meets once a month. He originally self published because he didn't think and still doesn't think he's good enough for the big guys. He said his book had some luck. It was similar to the Alex Rider series and there were even rumors that Anthony Horowitz was writing under a pen name. He didn't stop the rumors. It also seemed to follow on the heels of the Hunger Games. Another plus is that Prince William read and loved the book. Anyway, after four months it was picked up by an agent and published by Sourcebooks. They had him remove 25,000 words and changed it from 13-15 age group to 9-12.

He originally wrote the book for his son who couldn't seem to find a book he liked.

He doesn't have a set work schedule. He owns a shop and works between sales.

The idea for his books comes from life. His next series will be based on true life events and is called "The Edelweiss Pilots"

He's had a couple of bites for a movie, but nothing has come to fruition. His agent has asked him to write the script. He feels inadequate, so he doesn't know if it'll go any further.

He moved to the US because he loves the opportunities this country has to offer. He moved to Florida for the weather and they fell in love with Sarasota after scouring the state for their home. His parents owned a bookstore when he was growing up.

Did I miss anything?

Cool, spell, write a review of your time with him and his books and send it to me for the Newsletter.  It sounds like something well worth including!   And it's a clip.   Smiley
