Winter, I'm the opposite - I've been delving into the Colgate Comedy Hour, but I can only think of one Lewis movie I've seen so far (in love with Professor Kelp over here....). Colgate was an hour long show that had a set of rotating hosts. It was sketches and music and such. Martin and Lewis did it at the same time they were touring with live shows and shooting movies. What I adore about it is the fact that it's live, so you get to see them ad lib, break character and crack up at each other. It's priceless! Here's a sample:

Mary, I've traditionally loved classic lit like Wuthering Heights, Frankenstein, etc. But I've recently discovered the wonderful world of Today. It's definitely easier to read, and I can get through it more quickly! Yay :-D

Many of our local teachers have been great about using modern books like 'Beastly', 'Thirteen Reasons Why', 'Holes', 'Hoot', 'Kite Runner', the complete 'Hunger Games' series, 'Lightning Thief', 'Fast Food Nation', 'Chew on This' and others.

With the AR reading programs going on in school, it's much better than some of what I remember.  Instead of everyone being forced to read the same book, classes are filled with Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Three Muskateers, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, King Arthur, and a mix and match of other present day and classic books you get to choose from.
