Humi--just got a new follower on Twitter, her name is Aoife. She's a fantasy writer.   LOL!!! Roll Eyes

To answer your question- I don't have family and friends throwing ms at me. You mean their ms, right?  I'm lucky as my kids are grown, my husband does his own thing so have lots of writing time! Need a treadmill to jump on though -- all that sitting...!!   Cheesy

Humi, so true.  Your blog is so full of energy. I love reading your posts and do, even if I don't leave a remark.

I don't hate the editing process because it always makes for a better piece. I hate that I have to fight to get it done. I can easily line by line edit someone else's piece, but try to do so with mine and I'm lost. I'm glad I have a writing group and editor to turn too. They always keep me on the right tract.

ACK!!! seriously Liz?? Aoife's following YOU and NOT me on twitter!!! blasphemous! Wink and lucky u! yeah i did mean 'their own ms'. its not that i dont enjoy reading them or even editing. its just that they expect a quick response which isnt always possible and a fairly positive one too or else hearts break easily...sigh!

Spell - thank you for the support so much! i adore u guys Cheesy i'm so glad u enjoy my posts but more than that its so awesome to have ppl around u who GET what you're saying! i guess its easier to help others than to help urself which is why we do need an editor to tell us where we need to get back into gear Smiley

I actually love proofing, editing and commenting on other writers' work! But you are right "hearts break easily."   I try to balance negative comments with positive ones . Sometimes though, I think people are just looking for affirmation of their writing and not any editing or comments! And I agree it's easier to look at others' work than at your own.  I know I get sick of reading my own stuff after awhile!!

I actually am using you as an example at the Willamette Writers Conference, this weekend, Humi. It's a huge conference and I'm doing a morning presentation on Indie publishing.   You are one of my examples of how to do blogging for new readers right, and I"m including a shot of your blogsite on the powerpoint.   Smiley Hopefully that'll send more traffic your way, too!

Laughing, Liz!  But hey, I figure a lot of those folk will go look at the blog, since I"ll put the URL on the whiteboard, so they'll see your excerpt, Lizbeth!   Wink
